BREWER VACANCY

Pomona Island is an independent brewery based in Salford, Greater Manchester. In just under two years we have expanded our brewing capacity by 500% and in turn are looking to hire an experienced Brewer.

This is a very hands on role. You’ll be joining a young business with just a small production team of two, therefore you will have the opportunity and be required to be involved in all aspects of the brewery including; brewing, cellar management, packaging, warehousing, deliveries to local accounts and representing the business at events.

The successful candidate will be integral in our current production capacity, as well as pushing us forward as we grow.

Job responsibilities

  • -  Wort production

  • -  Cellar management; yeast handling, fermentation control, dry hopping and carbonation

  • -  Barrel Ageing

  • -  Packaging in cask, keg, can and bottle from our Barrel Ageing Programme

  • -  Warehousing, palletising and packaging orders for distribution and retail

  • -  CIP of brewkit, FVs and packaging lines

  • -  General cleaning of the Brewery

  • -  Stock control

  • -  Share the dray run to local accounts

  • -  Travel to festivals and events representing the business

Job Requirements

  • -  At least two years working in a Brewery

  • -  Full, Valid, Clean Driving Licence

  • -  High attention to detail and cleanliness

  • -  Ability to maintain accurate records

  • -  Strong time management and multi-tasking skills

  • -  Effective communication skills

  • -  Extensive knowledge of memes

Nice to have

  • -  Relevant brewing qualification (IBD, Brewing MSc, Food Science etc)

  • -  Forklift truck license

  • - Own Casio F-91W and a willingness to synchronise to Pomona time
